The Leonora Golden Gift Art Prize
In 2024 the Leonora Golden Gift Art Prize debuted at the JG Epis Centre.
An undertaking by the Shire of Leonora in conjunction with Leonora Art Prize Inc, this new iteration of art prize focused on nurturing a vibrant local art scene by providing a platform for artists to showcase their talent during the Golden Gift.
The event is intended to run annually as part of the Golden Gift celebrations, with a ticketed Opening Night on the Friday, and the gallery then being open over the three day long weekend. All works entered are available for purchase.
The inaugural event was a great success, and we look forward to continuing to showcase our local artists.
Opening Night
Opening night for the Leonora Golden Gift Art Prize takes place on the Friday night of the Golden Gift weekend.
A ticketed event, guests are treated to a night of art, hors d'oeuvres and refreshments at the JG Epis Centre.
The night includes the announcement of winners, which is livestreamed.
Art Prize viewing
All entries are on display at the JG Epis Centre over the long weekend.
Entry is free, and viewing is open from 10am to 4pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Works are available for sale during this time.
